Culinary Vacations
If you're looking for a more in-depth culinary experience, a five-day Culinary Vacation may be just the answer! There's plenty of time to explore the relationship between food and wine at the Wine Country Cooking School at Strewn, Canada's only winery school then enjoy the attractions of the Niagara region!
In 2008, Culinary Vacations are offered June 16-20, July 14-18, August 11-15, and September 15-18.
Your Culinary Vacation starts daily with a themed hands-on cooking lesson (such as: Niagara's Regional Cuisine, Nature's Bounty/Seasonal Ingredients, Cooking with Wine, Cooking with Herbs, and Developing a Food & Wine Menu). You will enjoy lunch – matched with wine – in the School's private dining room or outside on the patio.
Afternoons are for behind-the-scene visits to growers, the market, and participating in a tutored wine tasting at Strewn.
On Wednesday evening, you will enjoy dinner at Terroir La Cachette, the acclaimed Provençal-inspired restaurant at Strewn.
After class there's plenty of time to explore the region's natural beauty, take in the theatre, the history and the sights. We are happy to assist you with arrangements!
Cost is $1,175 per person (without accommodation) plus 5% tax.
'Culinary Vacations' may also be booked as a package with accommodation in a romantic hotel, inn or bed & breakfast establishment in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. Costs with five nights accommodation in a deluxe room
range from $2,300 - $2,685 per person OR $3,475 - $3,860 per couple depending on the property and date selected. Applicable taxes extra. The package includes five nights accommodation (Sunday arrival), welcome get together, five days of cooking classes with lunch and wine, producer and market trips, dinner Wednesday night. Participating properties include the Harbour House Hotel and the Riverbend Inn.

Payment and Cancellation Policy: All bookings are considered firm and payments are processed when booking is made. Rebooking to a different date may be made up to three weeks before the class or until the class is full if that happens earlier. We can only accommodate a booking change made less than three weeks before the class, if we are able to fill the spot(s) with other patrons. If you are unable to attend class, you may send a substitute. No refund is given for cancellations.
