If you're looking for a more in-depth culinary experience, a five-day Culinary Vacation may be just the answer! There's plenty of time to explore the relationship between food and wine at the Wine Country Cooking School at Strewn, Canada's first winery cooking school then enjoy the attractions of the Niagara region!

In 2011, Culinary Vacations are offered June 13-17, July 11-15, August 15-19, and September 12-16. This is a Monday to Friday program.

The Wine Country Cooking School offers a one-of-a-kind food and wine experience. It is located in the heart of wine country, yet only minutes from a heritage district of Niagara-on-the-Lake with its shops, galleries and world-class theatre.

Your Culinary Vacation includes a daily hands-on cooking class followed by the meal you have made – matched with wine – in the School's private dining room or outside on the patio. You will use local, seasonal products in your cooking and learn tips and techniques for their preparation. There are also behind-the-scene visits to growers and specialty producers, tutored wine tastings and dinner Wednesday evening at the acclaimed Provençal-inspired restaurant at Strewn.

After class there's plenty of time to explore the region's natural beauty, take in the theatre, the history and the sights. We are happy to assist you with arrangements!

Cost is $1,175 per person (without accommodation) plus 13% tax.

Culinary Vacations may also be booked as a package with accommodation in a boutique hotel in historic Niagara-on-the-Lake. Costs with five nights accommodation range from $2,350 - $2,875 per person OR $3,525 - $4,050 per couple depending on the property and date selected. Applicable taxes extra. The package includes five nights accommodation (Sunday arrival), five days of cooking classes with lunch, producer and market trips, tutored wine tastings and dinner Wednesday night. Participating properties include the Harbour House Hotel, the Shaw Club and the Riverbend Inn.

Payment and Cancellation Policy: All bookings are considered firm and payments are processed when booking is made. Rebooking to a different date may be made up to three weeks before the class or until the class is full if that happens earlier. We can only accommodate a booking change after that if we are able to fill the spot(s) with other patrons. If you are unable to attend class, you may send a substitute. No refund is given for cancellations.
