The School Facility

The school consists of a state of the art hands-on kitchen that accommodates up to 32 cooks at one time. One-day Saturday classes and Food & Wine Weekends are normally capped at 16 cooks; five day culinary vacations are limited to 8 people. 

The kitchen includes top end professional home appliances, including Ultraline (Viking) gas cook tops, Bosch wall ovens and SubZero fridge/freezers. Smaller equipment includes Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart food processors and Henckel knives. Outdoor gas barbecues are Weber.

Work stations are set at four large butcher block tables. Cooks work in pairs with two teams per table. Solo cooks are matched with a cooking partner or assisted by one of the staff. Each team has access to a gas cooktop and wall oven.

Bright and airy, the cooking school is climate controlled and features large windows that overlook a herb garden and BBQ patio on Strewn's beautiful grounds. The entire class enjoys their meal in the adjacent private dining room.

The school is located within Strewn>> winery, complete with onsite tasting room, retail boutique and OLiV tapas bar and restaurant (where you can also purchase gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars).
