Team Building and More
Each year the Wine Country Cooking School runs up to 50 corporate hands-on cooking events including:
- team building afternoons or evenings
- spousal programs for multi-day conferences
- rewards for small business organizations, departments or management teams
We can also provide a fun and innovative twist on personal events such as
- engagement parties
- wedding showers
- significant birthdays
- anniversary parties
- family gatherings (we've had three generations, learning, cooking and dining together!)
The school is available for corporate and private classes Monday to Friday (either a daytime or evening class), on most Sundays (day and evening) and occasionally on Saturday evenings. Contact the school to discuss available dates, menu options and budget. The minimum cost for a private class is $1,000 which covers up to four people. Average costs for most groups are between $125 and $250 per person (based on total group size, class format and duration).
The school can accommodate groups of up to 32 people who cook together or up to 64 people (large groups divide into teams that alternate between winery-based activities and hands-on cooking).
Here are Some Ideas to Get Your Planning Started
Team Building in the Kitchen – collegial, cooperative and delicious. Our most popular program. Work in teams to cook a three-course meal that is matched with Strewn VQA wine. Ideal for groups of eight to 24 people, but up to 32 cooks can be accommodated at one time. Typically 3-1/2 hours.
Kitchen Challenge – a little fun competition can be had with teams competing, typically with the dessert portion of the menu.
Match the Dish – teams will prepare different dishes and then have the challenge of finding the right wine match.
Appealing Appetizers – Great for larger groups or those with a shorter time to cook, we teach, make and enjoy a selection of appetizers. Typically 90 minutes to 2 hours.
The VIP Experience – Our premium experience is ideal for VIP clients or a special celebration. After preparing your gourmet menu, the Estate Sommelier will lead the group in a tutored tasting.
Market Driven – It's off to the market to see what's local before incorporating the purchases into the cooking class menu. (For groups arriving before 4:00 pm and best when done during the local growing season)
NOTE: If you are looking for a venue to host a large meeting including overnight accommodations, there are several well-reviewed properties nearby including White Oaks Conference Centre, mid-size and boutique hotels/inns in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and many additional options in nearby Niagara Falls, Ontario.
